I have suffered with sinus problems for several years. When the sinus medications did not solve the problem, I decided to look for another solution. My name is Bertha Mujica. On January 18, 1996, I injured my back cleaning my garden. I fell down. After 3 months of orthopedic specialists, therapy and medications, I continued to have pains that were unbearable. I could not sleep in bed, but sat up on the living room sofa all night praying and crying for one night's rest with no pain or just a few hours of sleep with no pain.

I want to express my thanks and gratitude for your kind and effective acupuncture treatments and natural herbal medicines. They have been highly successful in relieving me of the severe pain caused by neuralgia of the fifth cranial nerve, called the trigeminal facial nerve.

I have suffered with this problem for over 8 years. In 1982, a specialist in neuralgia advised me that the only cure for my problem was surgery. He said the pain would get increasing worse and that there was no effective medication. I was informed that there are two kinds of surgery for this problem. The nerve can be severed, which will cause complete numbness of the entire left side of the face and possibly paralysis. Or, drastic brain surgery can be performed in order to remove the nerve from its proximity to the blood vessel.

Since I did not want either of these surgeries, I suffered the pain, which became increasing worse, until I felt I had no choice unless I could get some relief. In July of 1988, I visited another specialist who tried the only two medications used for this problem, I was allergic to both.

I had heard of your success in acupuncture so I decided to try it. I am so glad I did. It is great to be able to eat, talk, and smile without having to suffer a sharp pain in the left side of my face.

"I am a modern day miracle."

In July of 1984, deep vein thrombosis began in my legs. I was admitted to the V.A. Hospital, Fargo, North Dakota. After two months treatment with IV Heparin, Ringer's solutions, and Coumadin, my veins opened up well enough to discharge me. Later when my leg turned dark and swollen, I would make a poultice of comfrey around my lower leg. This reduced the swelling and seemed to be healing. The doctor told me to keep on taking my Coumadin and be very careful about over doing or they would have to cut my leg off.

March continue 1988, I moved to Oceanside, and went to Stanford University in San Francisco, to the Medical Research Department, who were experimenting with lasers to clear obstructed blood vessels. They told me they could not treat veins because the valves in the veins would be destroyed also. I used the V.A. Hospital in San Diego to manage my Coumadin levels for about three years. A younger new V.A. doctor saw me on a Thursday and said he was up on the latest Coumadin treatments and was going to lower my Coumadin. That scared me because my leg was sore, swollen and dark in color; I could not sleep at night and suffered all day with constant pain.

The following Sunday I met Dr. Yeh who was opening an office in Vista. He started me on herbal tea, acupuncture, and four kinds of natural pills for my internal organs. I was diabetic, had an enlarged prostate, my veins were shot in my legs and I weighed 265 pounds. In 1955, when I was 31 years old, my hands and fingers had become numb and tingly and remained that way all through the following years. At times I was walking around with a blood sugar of 300 mg per cc. and the doctor had given me high blood pressure pills. My arthritis was so bad, I had obtained an electric chair to lift me up and down.

I was dangerous for me to drive to San Diego so I decided to use my HMO doctor to manage my Coumadin. I told the doctor what Dr. Yeh was doing for me and he called Dr. Yeh a quack.

Soon after he cut my Coumadin down and my clotting time returned to near normal. About 5:00 a.m. on Moray morning clots formed in both legs from my abdomen to my ankles. At 8:00 a.m. I was at the medical clinic had they scanned my legs and reported to my medical doctor that I had deep vein thrombosis. He sent me home instead of admitting me to the hospital. The next day a nurse came to see me and I showed her in my medical book that I should be in the hospital and she agreed and called the doctor. He said I was expecting too much and refused to admit me. The next day the nurse came again and she said I will get all your vital signs and call the doctor and see if I can't get you admitted to the hospital. After some discussion, he told her to call an ambulance and I was taken to Tri-City Hospital, Oceanside, where I continued to be given only Coumadin.

When my doctor came in to see me, he examined me and said, "Boy, you have a beaut; when did this happen? I related the above to him and said that when I had this before in 1984, I was given Heparin for two months. He said, "We know more now how to treat these problems." So I laid there for 2 days with only Coumadin. This resulted in a four day delay before proper treatment began with Heparin. He stopped the herbal tea and other treatments of Dr. Yeh.

On the weekend, the alternate doctor, Dr. Donald Wentzel, saw me and when he heard my story, he said, "We will get you started on a treatment program." In came the IV Heparin, the Ringer's Solution, like my treatment in 1984. This continued for four weeks. Then I was told that my HMO would not continue to pay for my stay in the hospital after my treatment for six weeks was completed. There was no more the doctors and hospital could do for my condition. They called in Medi-Cal because they said my treatment was completed and I was not able to continue home. I would have to transfer to Vista Del Mar Care Center. My original doctor who caused the problem told my sons that I might never recover; I had a very serious problem and he couldn't do any more for me. A blood clot could let loose and hit my lungs, brain or heart at any time. After a month at Vista Del Mar Care Center, I went home.

I went back to Dr. Timothy Yeh and showed him my leg. He said, "that's not the same leg you had when I last saw you." I got back on his program. The swelling began to slowly come down and the skin around my lower leg began to slowly turn pink again. The rope like cords in my upper legs, which were veins, gradually became soft. For months I walked very little.

I am writing about this August 30, 1994. My prostate is normal, my blood pressure is 130/70 mmHg; my diabetes is almost non-existent. I had an MRI scan at Mercy Hospital in San Diego in October of 1990; and it showed arthritis all through my spine and hip joints. The doctor had said he would authorize the replacement of both of my hips in 1989. Now my arthritis is much better. The numbness in my hands and fingers is gone. The bald area of my head began to fill in with hair; my hair became less gray and more black. My legs are almost as good as new and I feel better now than when I was 33 years old.

I signed up with another HMO and have found an excellent medical doctor. I went over the history of my legs and he looked over my pills. He said, "Its interesting, I don't know anything about herbal medicine. Doctors don't know everything; good doctors will admit it." When your medical doctor says, "You have to learn to live with it, there is nothing more I can do", it is time to try alternative methods of treatment. When you are sick and tired of being sick, go see Dr. Yeh's Clinic of Natural Medicine. He will be honest with you; he can treat many diseases western medical doctors can not treat. Hair Falling Out

When I first came to the Yeh Center of Natural Medicine in November 1999 (3 months ago), my hair was falling out and the color was very dull. MIRACLE OF GOD'S MEDICINE

When I first came to the Yeh Center of Natural Medicine, I was very sick and feeling bad. I had cirrhosis of the liver, hepatitis C, esophageal varices, and bloating. In September, 1997, I was diagnosed with Hepatitis C and was treated with Interferon drug therapy for 3 months which left me in total misery. As a result of the drugs, I had loss of appetite, sweats, headaches and I suffered from depression. The doctors told me that there was no cure for my condition and because the Interferon did not work, they suggested a new drug.

In October, 1998, I was diagnosed with cirrhosis of liver, which is an irreversible condition that causes fibrous scarring of the liver. Nothing was done for my condition and the doctors put me on a waiting list for a liver transplant. They were giving up on me. On June 16, 1999, I was throwing up blood (5000cc) due to esophageal varices. I was in the ICU for 5 days while they scoped and injected a tube through my nose to compress and bind the varices. I was given limited advice and was just told to "wait and see".

On June 25, 1999, I was referred to Dr. Timothy Yeh by my sister Pat. Though I was not negative about natural medicine, I was somewhat hesitant and afraid of getting acupuncture. I got treatments before from another acupuncturist, but he did not incorporate herbal teas, dietary guidelines and seminars. In addition, the prior treatments left me with a phobia.

But Dr. Yeh and his staff gave me encouragement, faith, patience and knowledge to cope with my phobia and I was able to get acupuncture twice a week, which has done wonders. The needles are not a problem. I was also given personalized food medicine, herbal medicine, supplements, prayers, and I was told to rest. I followed everything. After 1 month of starting treatments with Dr. Yeh, I started to feel better. The color came back in my face and I started eating the right foods.

Amazingly, after only 2 ?months of treatments, my most recent lab work and ultrasound showed that my liver size is normal and my liver cirrhosis is healed. My esophageal varices are now gone with pictures and tests to prove it. The bloating is also gone. During my treatments at Yeh Center, I did not take any drug medications. I am ecstatic about my results! I sleep better, eat better, and can play with my grand kids without getting tired. Without a doubt, I would refer others.

I was first introduced to Dr. Yeh about 3 years ago when I sought his treatment for migraine headaches, osteoarthritis and bone spurs. Dr. Yeh has been treating me for Insomnia, Migraine Headaches, Stomach Problems, and for the last couple of weeks, he has been treating me for chest pains. The insomnia and upset stomach I have had since I was about ten years old, the migraines and chest pains for over twenty years.

For over a year, I had uncontrollable shaking and constant jerking of my right leg. At first, it just happened for about half an hour once every several weeks during my sleep. Later, it became more often, and it occurred several times a night. Soon, I had it in the daytime too. The jerking was vigorous, and I could not walk far and had to use a cane. I definitely could not drive.

I went to a neurologist and had MRIs of my brain and lower back taken, and I also had an EEG. Nothing was found, but the neurologist diagnosed me as having focal motor seizures and she treated me as such. The medication rendered me very tired and gave me a lot of other side effects. The drugs affected my vision, my gums and my menstrual cycle. Then 2?months later, the shaking came back gradually and eventually became worse.

I was transferred to another neurologist. He suspected that I didn't have seizures at all. Meanwhile the jerking and shaking was so bad that I was hospitalized. For 4 days, I was given more seizure medications and tranquilizers, but the jerking was very severe and went on for over 12 hours non-stop at a stretch. I was discharged because staying at the hospital did not help at all. I had more EEGs done, including a 24-hour EEG. All of them showed that I had nothing wrong with my brain so the doctor asked me to stop all medication gradually and sent me away, saying that I should see a psychiatrist instead. Altogether, I had been to my primary doctor and 3 other neurologists, and they could not help me.

Feeling helpless, I went to Dr. Yeh in April 2000. I had my first acupuncture treatment and left his clinic at about 12 noon. Before 4 p.m., my jerking stopped and it never came back again. It has almost been 3 months and I have not had another attack. I have numbness in my limbs from time to time, but nothing compared to the disabling jerks that I had before. I can walk without using a cane, and I can drive. My life is back to normal.

Growing up, I took Chinese natural medicine and believe that it has a lot of merit. But I have never had acupuncture prior to the Yeh Center of Natural Medicine.
